Project: Jewson Civils Durham office renovation

When Apollo won the contract to renovate this disused office block for Jewson Civils, the challenge was to transform a building that was in an extremely bad state of disrepair. The roof was leaking, ceilings were collapsed and the building was completely unusable for any kind of business.

The only option was for the team to ‘restart’ the building from a shell and complete a comprehensive schedule of work to leave the facility looking unrecognisable from its previous dilapidated state.

  • Ceilings were completely replaced
  • Brand new plumbing was installed
  • All walls were fully replastered and boarded
  • New flooring
  • New suspended ceilings installed
  • Fire doors installed
  • New kitchen installed
  • Four new bathrooms
  • Groundworks – concrete base for a new delivery area

The result on the north side of the structure was a new block of 12 offices and meeting rooms. At the same time, the south side was also completely renovated to give the business a brand new sales area.
